Holy Mother in the South
The loftier the purpose of a journey, the greater the reward. If the traveller is a spiritually exalted person like the Holy Mother, local people who meet her also benefit. That was the reason why Swami Ramakrishnananda had a long-cherished desire to bring the Holy Mother to the South. Between February 11th to April 11th, 1911, Mother visited Chennai, Madurai, Rameswaram, Bengaluru and Rajahmundry. Her last stop was at Puri, before reaching Kolkata.
This book by Swami Prabhananda is rich in detail and highlights the circumstances of the Mother’s visit, the dates and durations for which she sojourned in the places she visited, the names of her fellow-travellers, the spiritually significant events that took place and the impact of her holiness on the hearts of the devotees. Related pictures add to charm of the book.
