Path of Devotion

This small and slim book, a compilation of extracts from Swami Paramananda’s letters, is filled with spiritual reflections and aspirations. Only for the sake of convenience the text is grouped under five heads—Devotion, Purity, Steadfastness, Fearlessness and Self-surrender. Though the themes overlap, the text, from start to finish, is suffused with deep devotion, subtle power and simplicity.
Swami Paramananda was a disciple of Swami Vivekananda. He was ordained as a monk before the age of 18 and sent to America in 1906 at the age of twenty-two. After establishing the Vedanta Centre of Boston in 1909, he lectured throughout the United States of America, Europe and Asia for thirty-four years, until his passing away in 1940.
Anybody aspiring for higher ideals in life and in need of solace and inspiration will benefit from a mere skimming of the pages. For serious readers it is an education in spirituality.
