This book is an abridged edition of The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna , originally written in Bengali by Mahendranath Gupta, an intimate disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. The book contains recordings of the conversations Sri Ramakrishna had had with his disciples, devotees and visitors. These conversations alternate between deep mystical experiences and ecstasies, profound utterances about the nature of the Ultimate Reality, homely parables and illustrations, animated rendering of devotional songs and innocuous humour.
The abridged edition is prepared by Swami Nikhilananda, who was also the translator of the original work.
